Our Mission

The Michigan Finance and Mathematics Society is committed to developing undergraduate quantitative talent. We strive to provide the best platform for devoted students to apply their unique skill sets to financial analysis under a real world pretense, and work to ensure each student is prepared for the challenges of their professional goals.

The Michigan Finance and Mathematics Society has constructed a strict, multifaceted educational curriculum to aid the development of its members. The program engages members in 5 fundamental educational sessions that catch students up to speed with all things math, finance, and the real world.

Through research groups, mock trading games, and professional treks, MFAMS gives every member plenty of opportunity to advance themselves in technical skills while simultaneously expanding their network.

During meetings, research groups, and breakout sessions members are prepared for the quantitative challenges they will face during interviews and in the workplace. The Michigan Finance and Mathematics Society also offers resume-building workshops, LinkedIn critiques, and mentor-mentee relationships with experienced older classmates who have spent time in the quantitative finance industry.

The Michigan Finance and Mathematics Society partners with several quantitative finance firms located around the country to provide its members with unique recruiting opportunities through sponsored and member-only recruiting events, as well as year-round interaction with industry professionals. This includes professional treks and corporate events during the school year.
